This is the fifth year that «AutoInvest®» gathers representatives of Russian and international automotive industry, public authorities, financial institutions, and leading industry associations. More than 390 participants from 18 countries and 15 regions of Russia took part in the Conference in 2011.
For the first time Vladimir Putin welcomed the participants and guests of the V International Conference on Investment Attraction to Automotive Component Industry «AutoInvest® 2011» noting that «...every year your forum is confidently asserting itself as an authoritative platform for discussion of the pressing issues of domestic manufacturing of automotive components and automotive industry as a whole».
In his telegram, he mentioned that «... in the sphere of attention of heads of relevant institutions, specialists, experts and analysts of the automotive market from many countries – are issues related to the attraction of large investments in the sector, creation of new and modernization of existing enterprises, as well as - exchange of accumulated experience».
Full text of the greeting was read during the Grand Opening Ceremony of the conference, which took place in the Mariinsky Palace (the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg). The conference continued its work in conference rooms of the Exhibition complex «Lenexpo», pavilion № 4, where on the first floor exhibition «Automechanika 2011.St.Petersburg» was housed, and on the second floor - the traditional accompanying exhibition «AutoInvest® 2011».
Delegates also were welcomed by the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation to the North-West Federal district, Ilya Klebanov.
Among the main topics of the Conference: discussing the new requirements of industrial assembly regime for manufacturers of automobiles and automotive components, and practical features of using «old» agreements, as well as the range of actual issues and problems associated with investments in the automotive industry and the development of the automotive industry in Russia and in the European Union, development of regional cluster initiatives and expansion of regional cooperation in the field of supplying parts.
The conference was attended by representatives of government and heads of car assembly plants of Russia - Valentina Matvienko, Governor of St. Petersburg, Matsunaga Yoshinori, General Director of LLC «Toyota Motor Manufacturing Russia»; Himmer Lars, Director General of MAN Avtomobili Rossiya; Chun Gui Il, Director General of LLC «Hyudai Motor Manufacturing Rus» (HMMR) and other industry experts.

During the meeting there were covered the following topics: development of St. Petersburg as a major international logistics center, industrial policy of Russia and St. Petersburg and entrance to the Russian market of automotive component manufacturers, representing the international small business.
In addition to plenary sessions and discussions, program of the Conference included meetings of car seats suppliers, of the automobile silencers suppliers, workshops on taxation and features of customs control over the import of automotive components and raw materials for the components. At one of the round tables questions on the development of secondary market for automotive components which volume in Russia is one third of the total volume, were discussed.
Much attention was paid to the development of automobile industry complex of St. Petersburg. At a round table in addition to analytical information about the role and pace of development of automobile cluster of St. Petersburg, as examples of successful cooperation between business and government there were presented a new running projects in the field of automotive components - a major manufactures (MMK, INTERCOS IV, Magna) and small compact automotive components manufactures (Ebershpeher Exhaust Systems Rus). The discussion indicated the problems and challenges of the coming period on the effective interaction of St.Petersburg`s industries administrations and Administration of St. Petersburg.
Special attention was paid to the production of heavy equipment that was implemented in the presentation of the plant Scania-Peter and excursion to the plant for the production of commercial trucks «Scania-Peter».
On 15-18 of February 2012 in St.Petersburg there will be held International Conference on Investment Attraction to Automotive Component Industry «AutoInvest® 2012», during which it is planned to discuss such topics as: the export potential of Russian manufacturers of automotive components: challenges and prospects of integration into the global automotive market, investments in the Russian automotive industry and government support of foreign investment and development of public-private partnership, development of constructive partnership of the domestic automotive industry with the global automotive industry groups, creation of high-tech and complete cycle automobile manufactures (from the primary processing of raw materials to the finished product) in Russia, the national research database: integration of Russian engineering centers.
At the first pre-conference day, 15 February 2012, delegates will be able to visit plants of automobile and automotive components manufacturers of Saint-Petersburg.
During main Conference days, 16-17 February 2012 plenary sessions, discussion panels and round tables by leading industry experts, government representatives and international business are waiting them. In 2012 a format of B2B Match-making will be renewed, and it will give a possibility to all delegates of the Conference to communicate with representatives of the auto- and automotive components manufacturers, and representatives of branch ministries.
The fourth, additional day will be devoted to the cultural program with visits to palaces and restaurants of Tsarskoe Selo and St. Petersburg.
